Zicam Probably Didn’t Cure Your Cold, and Now You Could Get $57

Nothing is worse than being plagued by a cold, slugging your way to the store to buy overpriced cold medicine, and still feeling like crap after many doses.

If this sounds familiar and you’ve purchased Zicam, you might be eligible for up to $57 as part of a proposed class-action settlement.

How to Get Your Slice of the Zicam Class-Action Pie

A class-action lawsuit accused Zicam of making false and misleading statements about how quickly its products make colds go away. The company denies the claim, but it’s paying out up to $16 million in cash and calling it a day.

If you purchased RapidMelts Original, RapidMelts Ultra, Oral Mist, Ultra Crystals, Liqui-Lozenges, Lozenges Ultra, Soft Chews, Medicated Fruit Drops or Chewables between Feb. 15, 2011, and June 5, 2018, you can file a claim online or by mail.

The form asks how many of each product you purchased and the location of the purchase.

You can submit a claim without proof of purchase, but you will only receive the manufacturer's suggested retail price for a maximum of five items, netting you $57.65 if you bought five of the most expensive product, priced at $11.53.

However, if you have receipts, invoices, packaging, bottles, containers or another form of documentation, you’re entitled to receive cash for the exact amount you paid for additional products.

This means you might get more than $57, depending on how many claims are submitted.

You also have the option to object to or opt out of the settlement.

The deadline is Oct. 3, 2018.
