Deciding which home service provider to choose can be tough. With a myriad of deals and offers available, it is often hard to pick apart which product offers best value.

That is why each year Moneywise asks you, the readers, to tell us about the top home services providers in the country.

The Home Finances Awards are designed to help you to decide on a whole range of household services, from broadband and mobiles to energy suppliers and supermarkets.

This year, with a phenomenal 10,000 respondents to our survey, there are some clear winners that deserve a pat on the back.

A big thank you to all those who voted – here are the firms that you picked as the best providers in the UK in 2018.

Takeaway and travel booking services

Best value for money
Winner Just Eat
Highly commended: Deliveroo
Best value for holidays
Winner Trip Advisor
Highly commended: Expedia
Best for rail booking
Winner Trainline
Highly commended: National Rail

Whether it’s for flights abroad or ordering a takeaway, more and more people are now booking online.

In the takeaway booking category, Just Eat managed to retain its crown as the number one provider.

With more than 29,000 restaurants across the UK, Just Eat is now one of the UK's biggest companies after swallowing rival Hungry House last year and is valued at £5.5 billion.

Moneywise readers were particularly impressed with the range of restaurants to choose from, the customer service and the discounts on offer. Deliveroo was highly commended in the category.

National rail fares are notoriously expensive, so it’s good to book in advance if you want to get a discount by going online.

When it comes to best rail booking service, Trainline took top prize, ahead of National Rail, which was highly commended.

Trainline scores highly for value for money and ease of use of its website, as well as its speed.

Our readers recommend Trip Advisor more than any other travel website, scoring highly for its wealth of information and cheap prices.

Expedia was voted a close second in this category. Both are a valuable source of information for travellers, providing them with details on cheap flights and hotels.
