Last week, Hilary Clinton made an impassioned call for voting rights, particularly regarding minorities. Clinton boldly asserted that “what is happening is a sweeping effort to disempower and disenfranchise people of color, poor people and young people from one end of our country to the other.” In a not-so-subtle, rather direct jab at some of her Republican opponents, Ms. Clinton specifically called out Wisconsin governor Scott Walker and Texas governor Rick Perry, accusing both of having (at least) intentions to pass laws that would have impeded the rights of minorities to vote.
