After five years in the making, the 2015-end launch of Reliance Jio, the telecom business of Reliance Industries, India’s second-biggest firm by value, making its rivals anxious. A price war is sure to ensue as the new venture attempts to aggressively build a customer base in the country, the world’s second-largest mobile services market after China. In mobile telephony, Reliance Jio will want to snatch users from incumbents such as Airtel and Vodafone.
